Fitted Tee, Flared Jeans, + BBQ

Fitted Tee, Flared Jeans, + BBQ

Over the weekend, Flynn man, hubby, and I went to a BBQ spot we have been meaning to try for years. It was seriously so much fun, and it was so delicious! Don’t ask me why it took us so long to get there! Not only was the BBQ on point, they have a huge outdoor grassy area for kids to play on and for parents to partake in a game (or 10) of bags/cornhole/whatever-you-call-it. And partake we did … Mikes and I had some fun throwing the bags. It reminded me of one of our first dates where I totally beat him twice in bocci. I think that sealed the deal … lol. Not sure I could ever repeat that performance … ever. I was really trying to impress him.

BBQ’ing is totally casual, so I wore a some flared jeans and a fitted tee from Old Navy. I get real passionate about tees, probably because I have been wearing them a lot since Flynn man was born. So I decided to partner with Old Navy to show you some tips + tricks for styling tees. Let’s face it, we love to wear tees, but we don’t like to look like we just threw on a tee … am I right?

I like to go the fitted route when pairing a tee with high-waisted flare jeans. Anything too frumpy on top doesn’t quite tuck in nicely and show off the high rise.

No joke … I was seriously so impressed with the quality of this gray tee when it came in the mail. The fit is awesome. The fabric is high-quality-thick not make-you-swelter-in-the-summer-thick. It’s stretchy and so soft. And the wash is great. You can’t go wrong with gray ever as far as I’m concerned.

These jeans are awesome. I needed a pair of flare jeans in a lighter wash for summer. This is the perfect color, and I was so happy with the fit. I love the high rise … I feel all sorts of skinny in these things. And let me tell ya, I don’t always feel that way especially since having Flynn man. Wanna know the best part? Cue the drumroll please. These things are only$37. What the heck?! I even used a coupon code, and I think they came out to around $25. As I tried these on for the first time, I literally said in my head “why have I ever bought $100 jeans?”

I paired the jeans and the tee with this gray faux leather tote. I generally can’t leave home without a big bag anymore, since I have lil man. This one is a real gem. I think I will get a ton of use out of it this summer.

And last but not least, you gotta go with aviators when you are wearing flares right? These black aviators are a lil different than the ubiquitous gold ones. That’s why I like them. Plus if you are like me and tend to wear a lot of black, they will match your outfits a whole lot.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at our fun weekend! Any other styling tips + tricks for tees I should know about? Let me know in the comments!
