Roasted Plums Topped with Toasted Marshmallow

Roasted Plums Topped with Toasted Marshmallow

Roasted Plums

The other day I was at Trader Joe's and couldn't pass up the beautiful plums! Here is the result of that. These plums are roasted with a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. It smelled like Christmas in the house! And for those of you who know me, you know how much I LOVE Christmas!  Make sure to not roast these too long or they will get mushy.

Happy Plum Season!

400° Oven

Plums are roasted with nutmeg, brown sugar, and cinnamon to give you that holiday feel during summer plum season!

  • 4 plums, halved and pitted
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 3 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 jumbo marshmallows cut in half

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Whisk together orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.

Grease a shallow baking dish. Place plums, cut-side up, in a single layer in the baking dish. Drizzle mixture over plums.

Bake for 13 minutes or until plums are softened but not mushy. Pull plums out of the oven and top with marshmallow halves. Set oven to broil, and broil until marshmallows are browned on top (about 2 minutes). But be sure to watch, broiling happens very fast!
